Is the free plan really free?
Yes — no credit card. You get unlimited sources added in the app, all 150+ citation styles, the full AI-generated reference list with Word/BibTeX/RIS export, project organisation and sharing, with no ads. Saving via the browser extension or bookmarklet is free up to 10 times a week. When the Google Docs add-on launches, the free plan will include 30 citation insertions and 3 Triple AI Shield checks a week. Core citation functionality is never paywalled.
What does Pro add?
Pro gives you unlimited browser captures (extension & bookmarklet), unlimited citation inserts in the Google Docs add-on, unlimited Triple AI Shield checks, PDF upload, AI summaries of each source (Understand the source), and a saved page archive of every source.
What is the Triple AI Shield?
It arrives with the Google Docs add-on: select a paragraph you have written and Shield compares it with the source you cited, on three axes: whether the wording sits too close to the original, whether the passage moves your research question forward, and whether the writing fits the section it is in. It reports what it sees and leaves the judgement to you. 3 checks a week will be free; Pro is unlimited.
Can I cancel Pro at any time?
Absolutely. Cancel from your billing page and you keep Pro access until the end of the billing period — no questions asked.
What is the full reference list feature?
CitApp's AI assembles a complete, correctly formatted reference list from all sources in a project — ready to paste into your essay or thesis. It's free for everyone, no account limits.
Do you offer student discounts?
